At Gallery Café Chameleon located in Gwangju, South Korea, Hwang Joonyoung’s solo exhibition ‘Blue Dream’ is on display from June 14 to September 18, 2021.

Hwang Junyoung, who graduated from Chonnam National University College of Art Department of Fine Arts, is an art instructor. For the freedom of thinking and creative development of children, with her mindset that they learn together, not just themselves. She has been steadily working on decorative arts such as interior design,flower decoration, living ceramics  and moon jar. Following her undergraduate major in crafts, she continued to paint oil paintings. Like the craft work that requires the rhythm and sincerity of a three-dimensional object, the flat field of oil painting has also been pursued as a classic, so the faithfulness of the basics has been cultivated.

She has prepared a solo exhibition of 10 new paintings from 2020 to the present under the title of 'Blue dream' with Corona Blue, the world has stopped due to COVID-19, and the concept of community again.
Through her works, the artist contains the values of healing, recovery and togetherness rather than her own perfection.
We deliver a message of win-win and hope in the present that does not stop in the voyage of COVID-19.
In the future, she communicates with the public as an artist by oil paintings and conveys her aspirations as she plans to paint beautiful nudes of women who give birth to life.

□작가노트
인간이 가지고 있는 욕망과 꿈을 작품에 담아내고자 고층건물, 갖고자하는 기대, 높아지고 싶어하는 누구나 품을 수 있는 이상을 초현실주의로 담아내고자 한다. 상징적인 이미지(사슴뿔, 공작새 깃털) 소재로 인간이 가지고 있는 원초적인 부분을 그리며, 공작새 깃털은 옷이 되어 보호하거나 과시, 자랑이 되기도 한다. 수명을 다하면 떨어지는 깃털은 인간이 추구하거나 바라는 꿈, 성취하고자 하는
열망이 될 수도 있다.
코로나 19로 세상이 멈추고, 공동체라는 개념을 다시 생각하며, 코로나블루를 < 희망블루 > 라는 타이틀로 다시 회복되길 바라는 마음으로 작품을 표현하였다. 이 시간을 함께 이겨내고, 지나가고, 새롭게 태어나기를 바라는 마음이다.

잠들지 않는 문화의 도시 뉴욕, 미국의 엠파이어스테이트 빌딩 고층건물을 소재로 높은곳을 향한 인간의 마음과 빛나는 도시의 화려함을 블루로 표현, 파랑은 '절망', '이별, '고독' 등을 나타내기도 하지만, 한편'자기탐구', '정화', '내적성장', '해방감', '새로운나', '자립', '희망', '지적' 등을
말하기도 한다.
