닻미술관에서 현재 진행중인 전시 ⟪무경계⟫의 참여 작가 브라이언 오스틴, 웨인 레빈과 협력 큐레이터 앤 베이가 한국에 방문합니다. 이를 기념하여 닻미술관과 서울에 위치한 다크룸에서 작가와의 만남을 준비했습니다.
10월 7일 토요일 닻미술관에서는 두 작가와 함께 전시를 둘러보며 이야기를 나누는 ‘작가와의 대화’ 시간이 이루어지며, 10월 13일 금요일 서울 구의동에 위치한 다크룸에서는 ‘아티스트 토크’가 열립니다. 두 작가와 함께 작업에 대해 이야기 나누는 소중한 시간으로, 관심있는 분들의 많은 참여 바랍니다.
Photographer Bryant Austin, Wayne Levin and co-curator Anne Veh are visiting Korea for the exhibition “No Boundaries” at Datz Museum of Art. To celebrate this, an engaging "walk and talk" tour of the exhibition will take place on October 7th at Datz Museum of Art. As an extension of the exhibition, an artist talk will take place in the project space of Datz Press, D’Ark Room in Seoul on October 13th.

웨인 레빈 Wayne Levin
웨인 레빈은 샌프란시스코 아트 인스티튜트에서 학사를, 뉴욕 프랫 인스티튜트에서 석사를 취득했습니다. 1983년 하와이로 이주하여 사진을 가르치며 본격적으로 수중 사진을 찍기 시작했습니다. 그는 사진기를 들고 바닷속으로 들어가 그만의 시각으로 공간과 하나된 유기적인 풍경의 수중사진을 만들어 냅니다. 그는 이번 전시에서 하와이섬의 산맥과 구름을 담은 사진을 통해 대지 위에 물과 공기가 흐르는 또 하나의 수중 풍경을 보여줍니다
Wayne Levin studied photography at the San Francisco Art Institute and also attended Pratt Institute in NY. In 1983 he moved back to his hometown in Hawaii to teach photography and became more serious about underwater photography. He takes his camera underwater and captures amazing sceneries with his unique vision. His photographs in this exhibition depict the mountain ranges and clouds of Hawaii, presenting a unique portrayal of underwater scenery where water and air coalesce.
브라이언 오스틴 Bryant Austin
브라이언 오스틴은 독학으로 사진을 공부하고 미국에서 활동하는 사진가입니다. 작가가 직접 촬영한 실물 크기의 고래 사진은 예술로서뿐만 아니라 연구 자료로서도 희소한 가치를 가지고 있습니다. 뿐만 아니라 인간과 자연만물과 우주의 관계를 탐구하며 태양, 나무, 식물 등까지 영역을 넓혀 모든 미시적인 세계와 거시적인 세계가 하나로 이어짐을 카메라를 통해 발견해나가고 있습니다.
Bryant Austin is an American photographer known for his life-size portraits of whales. His collection of portraits of whales serves as a critical archive for future generations, given the tenuous future of its species. His subject matter is broad, extending from whales, trees, plants, and to the sun, connecting the micro and macro worlds together with a camera
